Final Fantasy XI, being an MMORPG, has a great new feature to the Final Fantasy name, communicating! You can talk with your fellow players in the game. You can discuss anything from the price of an item you want to sell, all the way to the current situation on gumball machines. Whatever it is, you can do it. WARNING, NEVER GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF TO ANYONE YOU TALK TO. Also, let me remind you that you will be carrying conversations with actual people from around the world so please be mindful of your language and manners. If there is someone harassing you, don't worry, there is also a feature which lets you ignore other players. One great feature to communicating is the emotions you can display. With simple commands like /cry or /laugh you can make your character perform these functions so another player can see.

SAY: When you choose this option, all the players in your AREA to see

SHOUT: This option allows ALL the players to see it

TELL: Only ONE specified player can see it

PARTY: ALL PARTY MEMBERS can receive your message

LINK SHELL: ALL MEMBERS of your guild will receive the massage
