For
those of you who have found this page on the internet, may I say
welcome. These recipes have been a life long project. From the time I
was nine years old and learned to make cornbread, cooking has been a
passion. I feel fortunate to have known many wonderful Southern cooks
and to have had them take the time to teach me. My mother, grandmothers
and great grand mothers are all represented here. Most of these women
were good old-fashioned Kentucky cooks. Some were wonderful cooks but
some preferred the farm work to cooking and just used it as a necessary
chore. Even these still left me with some good food advice.
These recipes are not just words on paper, but they represent
family members and dear friends. Some
of these people are no longer here on this earth, but when I prepare
these dishes their memory lives on fresh and new. I hope you will enjoy
meeting my family through these recipes.
Here are some new recipes
that I added in October. Enjoy!
