Green Beans-Wilma Tarter
Break and string fresh
green beans.
Wash twice.
Place in heavy pan and let
water come to within ½ of top of beans.
Cook on high but watch
carefully so that water does not all boil out.
Add:
½ t salt
½ t pepper
1 t Beau Monde
½ stick butter
1 T bacon drippings
Cook until tender.
I like to add 1 large whole
onion, 3 halved celery stalks and 8 small red potatoes.
1 small red pepper is
