Bread Pudding-Carmichaels

Break up ¾ loaf of bread in large bowl.

Add ¼ lb raisins.

Pour ½ egg mixture below over bread mixture and soak for 30 min.

Egg Mixture:

8 eggs             1 qt half and half                2 ¾ c sugar   1 ¼ T vanilla

Layer in bread and egg mixture in pan with cinnamon.

Set pan in 4 inches deep pan of water.

Bake 1 hour at 350^o.

Reduce to 325 ^o for 45 additional minutes.

Vanilla Sauce

Whip together:

2 c heavy cream              1 c half and half

1 c sugar                                 1 T cornstarch

4 egg yolks

Cook over low heat until thickened.

Add ½ T vanilla when done.
