English Rocks
Mix:
1 c soft butter
1 ½ c brown sugar, firmly packed
3 eggs
½ c buttermilk
3 c plain White Lily flour
1 t soda
½ t salt
½ t allspice
2 t cinnamon
½ t cloves
Add:
6 c pecan halves
1 lb halved candied cherries
2 c diced dates
1 lb candied diced pineapple
Drop from teaspoon on greased
cookie sheet.
Bake until bottom of cookies start
to brown at 325o.
Top of cookie should just be firm
to touch.
Brush with Maker’s Mark Bourbon
while hot before removing from cookie sheet.
Cool.
Store with wax paper between layers
of cookies.
