Strawberry Jam Cake-Sherrie Lightner

Mix in mixer:

1 c butter                    2 c sugar

4 eggs                         1 pt strawberry jam or 1 ½ c strawberry preserves

1 t soda in 1 c buttermilk

1 t allspice                  1 t cinnamon

1 t allspice                  1 t clove

3 ½  c plain White Lily flour

Bake 1 hour and 15 min at 350^o.

Caramel Icing-Ida Chism

Cook in heavy pan and stir till very softball stage:

2 c white sugar                      

1 stick butter

1 small can cream

Add 1 t vanilla

Beat until looses its luster.
