Molasses
Cake
Cream ½ c butter and
½ c brown sugar
Stir in ½ c molasses
beaten with 1 egg
Sift together 2 c plain
White Lily flour, 3 t baking powder, ½ t salt, ¼ t soda and 1 t mixed
spices
Add sifted ingredients and ½
c buttermilk to molasses mixture.
Bake 45 min at 400o in
greased 9” tube pan.
