Orange
Cinnamon Bread
Dissolve 1 pkg yeast in ¼ c water and set
aside.
Combine in large mixing bowl:
1 c
milk
¾ c orange juice
½ c
sugar ¼
c butter
1 t
salt
1 T grated orange peel
Add 2 c White Lily plainflour, yeast mixture
and 1 egg and mix well
Add 6-7 c White Lily plain flour to form soft
dough.
Knead 8-10 min. Place in greased bowl.
Cover. Let rise until doubled.
Punch down. Divide in half.
Roll each half to 15x7 rectangle.
Combine ½ sugar and 3 t cinnamon and sprinkle
over dough
Sprinkle each rectangle with 1 t water.
Roll up jellyroll style starting with the short end.
Seal edges. Place sealed edge down in two greased
8x4x2” loaf pans.
Cover. Let
rise until double. Bake 30-35 min at 375o until golden brown.
Remove from pan.
When cooled, glaze with mixture of 4 t orange juice,
1 t grated orange peel and 1 ½ c xxx sugar.
