Mint Julep

 

Make syrup:

Boil 2 c sugar and 2 c water for 5 min.   Fill a quart jar with fresh mint leaves. Pour boiling syrup over mint. Refrigerate overnight.  Pour syrup through strainer and store in airtight container.

 

To make drink:

Use 1 T syrup to 1 ½ oz bourbon over crushed ice. Add mint sprig dipped in sugar.
