The Site

The 1st Ilford North Seascout site was created using the latest server-side technology called ASP.NET. This allows the seascout site to be even more dynamic, effective, interactive, while at the same time making it easier for the webmaster to create and administrate.

ASP.NET works by alllowing the webmaster to code, in nearley any language curently available including VB and C#. This makes it a very effective language for creating dynamic pages. For the creation of the Ilford Seascout site I have used Visual Basic.NET.

Apart from ASP.NET, the seascout site was also created using Javascript and the mark-up language HTML.

A number of well known programs were used to create the site. The Editor Dreamweaver MX was used to create the site, however i have tried to code the majority of the site myself. The Graphical User Interface (which I think rocks) was created using Jasc's Photo Shop 8. This is a powerful image tool, and has been used in the creation of most other images on the site. The Flash banner and navigation bar, was created using the outstanding Flash MX. The program iproduces moving high-quality proffesional images that are small in size.
