Historic Civilization II Lawsuit Settled
Received July 14, 1998

The war over CivII that has been proceeding in the courts of law for several months now - ownership lawsuits brought against Microprose, Activision, and Avallon Hill by each other - has at last been settled! According to the agreement between the three companies, the trademark and ownership rights to Civilization II belong completely to Microprose, with Avallon Hill yielding all claims. However, the Civilization: Call to Power name will be a trademark of Activision. Activision will release Civ: CTP and a version of Civilization II for the Sony Playstation game console in the future under license from Microprose.
