| .:: Get the most out of your connection |
Let's get things started : CLt stands for current leeching techniques.
In today's web of spyware bugged software and deserted sources networks and isp blocking fuckin crucial ports,
keeping up with all your favorite movies games and series is not a job to be taken lightly,
to keep track of all current things without having to spend a nickel, or many many wasted hours of searching for it ....

| .:: Disclosure !! |
As a scifi fan, following tv-shows of painfully *NOT* international Tv-channel Scifi will be
a big priority, but also pretty easily solved, since the main interest of hardcore internet
freaks is scifi stuff, it'll prove as difficult as easy to stay up-to-date, but harder
to become really really source connected.
Movies and games take up a portion of the bandwith of the-every-day broadband surfer, the only kind
I'm going to take into consideration making following statements, and they'll be followed up
regularly as well

| .:: FTP |
Oldest leeching technique in the book, file transfer protocol, used from server to user.
Ftp is something set up easily on every system, with programs as Serv-U, Bulletproof, wu-ftp, proftp,...
you can have a server running in no time, even use a free hostname from dyndns.org to easy the pain of dynamic ip's
Clients are surely a very easy thing to find, since windows explorer even has those capabilities, but most used ftp programs are flashfxp, and cuteftp
But finding good ftp-servers with warez,etc... is not gonna be an easy thing to find.
You mostly get ratio's (which means u have to upload an amount compared to what u will download.
This is not something we wanna do much, (but even bittorrent and overnet require upload
(in smaller amounts)) since it usually kills your connection if your upload is maxed,
depending on the type of connection, but safe to say for most users.
Linux software
Servers : Wu-ftpd, proftp, ftpd, pure-ftpd,...
Clients : commandline : ncftp, ncftp2, cftp, lftp,...
X-clients : filerunner, gftp, kbear,....
Windows software
Servers : Serv-U, Bulletproof, ws_ftp, cerberus, titan, ..
Clients : flashfxp, cuteftp, shuttle ftp, explorer, .....
|
| .:: IRC |
All-known, widely-used plain old irc...
with channels over 1xx 100 Mbit dedicated boxes, can take quite some leechers without queues ;)
With Spiders crawling all networks, asking the xdcc serv's their contents, some sites reach
amazingly high mirror numbers...
Linux software
Servers : ircd, ...
Clients : commandline : irssi-text, bitchx, xchat-text, ...
X-clients : x-chat, zircon, irssi-gnome ....
Windows software
Servers : ircxpro, wirc, Chatspace, ...
Clients : mirc, ice-irc, dirc, , .....
|
| .:: P2P |
Names like napster, kazaa( !LITE), grokster, edonkey, overnet, bittorrent... they must ring a bell... central points
connecting several hundred users but all transfers still go from client ip to client ip.
- kazaalite.tk-> better, less spywared-version of kazaa
- kazaa.com -> Wide-spread much used p2p system (use software link above)
(They change a lot because they get DOS't often, or their load's get to high and they have to update h/w again or ...
Linux software
Bittorrent : bittorrent is also available for command line and with X-libs
Kazaa : No id yet, will look into it.
Overnet : command line client available.
Windows software
Bittorrent : bittorrent, and more advanced download-gui.
Kazaa : kazaa, kazaa-lite
Overnet : overnet, edonkey

| .:: Subtitels |
After all, if you've got a collection of movies or series what's the point if you can't understand it?
Just some links for subtitels for now, more info on software and editing/ripping/tweaking later.
