Ties processingIt is said that Marshall Hindenburg, successively president of the Republic of Germany in 1925, was proud of his capacity in judging the quality of his subordinates with just a glance. One day while chatting to General Ludendorf he affirmed: - - I only need a button of a jacket or a small indication in order to know an officer - - but these details - replied Ludendorf - are not enough to make an exact judgement - I don't agree - said the Marshall - because everyone tends to conceal things regarding important matters whereas in minor matters people show themselves for what they really are. True. The care and attention to detail, the constant quality of our product is the reason why our ties are considered exceptional. This is possible only due to the hand-made workmanship that is able to care for every minute detail. A fine tie - a world famous man said - hhas two things in common with a beautiful woman: - you are bowled over by it at first sight and - you would recognise it among a thousand others To reach this high level a careful choice and a perfect workmanship of the fabric is necessary. We have no doubt at all in putting silk, silk at the top of the list: the queen of all fabrics for ties, adapt both for Summer and Winter, morning or evening wear, in all it's variations: Brocade: extremely precious silk fabric produced with a jacquard loom; the pattern is slightly in relief, this effect is made by a weft of silver and gold lame yarn; Shot-silk:silk fabric weaved with a coloured taffeta yarn and characterised by reflecting various colours depending on the angle of the light. It is formed by a warp and a weft of different colours and the predominance of one or another colour, and depending on the position, produces the shiny effect. Crepe de Chine: this fabric has the characteristic of being crinkled on the surface and is obtained through a warp of raw silk without twisting and a weft of raw silk crepe. Foulard: a light fabric, soft to the touch, made with a weave of taffeta or satin, composed of a warp of raw silk. Each piece is coloured and then successively printed. It is used for foulards, scarves and ties. Grenadine: this is a fabric of worked silk in twisted organdy and it therefore has an opaque appearence. Adapt for veils and scarves. Jacquard: method used for designing all fabrics using a loom that is furnished with a jacquard machine. Fabrics with an ornamental design or patterns in relief, produced for making ties, are all worked in jacquard. Reps: corded fabric, usually in a lengthwise direction. The rep fabrics are sometimes coloured piece by piece but generally the yarn is coloured first. It is very suitable for ties. Taffetà: fabric usually made of silk yarn, the name deriving from the weave called by the same term and the characteristic being that of an thicker superior warp compared to the weft. Twill: classic silk fabric worked on a loom of raw yarn and then coloured and printed. Another characteristic is the thin diagonal corded appearance. Wool is really wonderful in winter worn with casual suits, and has the great advantage that it doesn't crease easily. The wool that is used for ties can be either rough or combed; more casual the first, more formal the second. In particular cashmere is a very light and soft wool fabric made with an excellent taffeta weave. Cotton and Linen are cool and, naturally, reserved for Summer wear. Linen, even though a superb fabric, is to be avoided in such that the tie immediatey creases. Mixed fabrics usually give an excellent consistency as in the case of wool and silk.
