January

 

27 – Hans Blix delivers UN report. Day of Action. At 8:00 am, protesters will meet at the Federal Building (Dearborn and Jackson) in downtown Chicago for Civil Disobedience.

 

28 – George W. Bush delivers State of the Union address. Day of Action. Banner drops and speakouts are encouraged.

 

29 – Day of Action. On January 29th, 2003, Student Peace Action will be sponsoring a walkout, sit-in, and alternative educational experience at Lincoln Hall (University of Illinois Chicago). The agenda includes free lunch, and a noon hour rally and march. People are to begin gathering on the quad side of Lincoln Hall at 9am, and the teach-in segments will begin at 10am. February

 

1 – Anti-war Teach-in, sponsored by the Chicagoland Student Antiwar Network (CSAWN) at University of Illinois in Chicago. Runs approximately 10:30am to 5pm; accommodations are available. For details, check under the resources portion of the web page.

 

8-15 – Week of Cultural Resistance. Creative actions such as poetry slams, speakouts and the like are encouraged.

 

15 – National Mobilization to New York City in solidarity with actions around the globe. People are strongly encouraged to make the trek to NYC, but actions will be held locally as well. The Chicago Coalition Against War and Racism is sponsoring a march on Devon avenue that day to highlight racism / civil liberties issues associated with the war. 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 15, 2200 W. Devon, Chicago.

 

22-23 – Campus Antiwar Network national conference in Chicago, sponsored by the Chicagoland Student Antiwar Network. Details and organizing information to be forthcoming. Accommodations available.

 

March

 

5 – National “Student Strike” / Day of Action. Walkouts are encouraged, but if infeasible other actions are also welcome.
