In the age of television and computer entertainment, the amount of live entertainment has declined significantly. Magic has always been popular, but in the past few years it has made a comeback in a massive way. There have been a large amount of magical performances in the media such as street magic, TV illusions and stunts by magicians including David Blaine and Derren Brown.
However, magic is all about involving the audience, and that is why we believe that magic is at its best when performed in front of a live audience.
John Hardie, based in the East Midlands area, has had a lifelong interest in magic, and has been amazing audiences with his feats of magic for many years. He is currently managing and teaching the Loughborough Grammar school magic society, which last year performed its full scale show 'Impact' at the Loughborough Grammar School Drama Studio. The sell - out show, attracted television, radio and newspaper attention, as well as being reviewed in the world's only weekly magic magazine. John will be directing the club's new show, 'Interlude', due to be performed towards the end of the summer.
"The pupils of Grace Dieu school were given a lesson in magic they'll never forget!" - Bharat Patel, ITV news.
