Federation of Filipino Communities in Israel

FFCI Logo History

On the inaguration of the FFCI during the 104th Philippine Independence celebration held at Yehoshua Park, Tel-Aviv on June 9, 2002, a logo making was opened to all  as a contest to select the right logo for the use of FFCI official trademark. A cash amount of NIS. 500 was set to be the prize for the lucky logo winner. There were over ten entries submitted to the board of judges members which was headed by Ambassador Marciano A. Paynor Jr. with Minister and Consul General Lamberto Monsanto, Consul Alfredo Borlongan, Consul Marichu Mauro, Labor Attach'e Jeffrey Cortazar, Cultural Attach'e Fe Rosales, and Welfare Officer Albert Valenciano. They voted unanimously for this logo which was designed by Roland Ustares from the Messiah Baptist Tabernacle, Filipino Members.

Lately, there were critics against the design of the logo which they claimed it is against the protocol of the Philippine nationl flag code but the majority are very much impressed by the simple but meaningful appearance of the logo which in no way violates the flag code.

The Interpretation of the Logo

Basically, the logo reflects the Filipino flag that uphold the pride of all Filipino citizens. But unlike the Philippine flag which has eight sun rays, the FFCI logo has only 5 sun rays which stand for TRUTH, LOVE, DIGNITY, UNITY, & PEACE. It has also three stars but the meanings are to emphasized the collaboration of the Philippine Embassy, Department of Labor and Employment, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration working with the FFCI for the entire Filipino community in Israel. The FFCI letters in the center of the triangle, of course, stands for the initials of the Federation of Filipino Communities in Israel and the color combinations:blue, red, white, & yellow - really shows the identity of a true Filipino organization in abroad.
