Comb Rendering
Anyone that under takes small cell beekeeping soon finds themselve with many cull or transition combs. These need to be processed so as to re-utilize the equipment. Why waste wax which is a valuable item! Here I will show how I process combs using a 15 gallon barrel with immersion heater. This method should be done outside as it can be messy depending on how fast one need to go and the person doing the work.
Here is a pic of my 15 gallon barrel. It has an immersion heater w/ thermostate from Mann Lake. I then wrapped it with insulation followed by wrapping with window plastic as protection from getting wet.
